Join us on September 28th!

MOSS Building & Design is hosting a full-day BuildAPalooza event on September 28, 2020 from 7AM to 7PM, providing warehouse space, labor, volunteers, and materials to help build fifty desks for area distance learners in need in partnership with local non-profit Desks For Distance.  

Desks For Distance was started in August 2020 by teen Colby Samide to provide a desk to those in the Northern Virginia area who cannot afford their own with the newfound need for virtual learning. So far, Colby has built over 100 desks with the help of his local community, and we're ready to step up to the challenge to build fifty in one day!

Sign up to be considered for volunteering!

Sponsors and other volunteers are welcome to participate in building desks from 10AM to 4PM.

If you are making a press or interview request, please use this this same form and check the preferred time that you plan to arrive.

All potential volunteers must apply below. Sign up for a specific shift - the number of volunteers will be spaced out throughout the day in consideration of social distancing guidelines. In addition, all volunteers must complete a health and safety questionnaire the day of the event as well as other waivers and releases. PPE and all required safety gear will be provided to all volunteers by MOSS Building & Design.
